The internal combustion engine is the main source of combustion and emissions for China's mobile machinery products, and it is also the product with the most potential for energy saving and emission reduction. The most energy-saving and emission-reducing effect is the most intuitive. Therefore, the research on low internal combustion engine fuel consumption and utilization of alternative fuels will become the core of the work during the “12th Five-Year Plan†and even longer period. Internal combustion engine energy conservation will run through every link from scientific research and development to industrial application. During the “12th Five-Year Plan†period, the growth rate of the internal combustion engine industry will be around 8%, and the growth rate of the industry efficiency rate should reach 10% to 15%.
According to the association, in the first half of 2010, the economy of China's internal combustion engine industry was running smoothly and the production and sales indicators increased by more than 30% year-on-year, a record high; the total profit increased by 78.88% year-on-year.
