Foton Motors has won the championship with absolute advantage. Among them, the growth rate of the slowest medium- and heavy-duty truck products also increased by as much as 20%, far higher than the national average rate of increase; the fastest-growing are the products of the Mongolian pike and fans, an increase of up to 220%.
The profitability of Foton Motor is also excellent. In the first 10 months of this year, Futian Auman sold a total of 67,561 heavy trucks. The highest price for such heavy-duty bicycles exceeds RMB 300,000. The profit from selling a heavy truck can top several light trucks. Futian Euro V buses sold a total of 10,392 units in the first 10 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 29.6%, which has become a new profit point. The sales of high-value-added models such as heavy trucks and large passengers have greatly improved profitability. The Fukuda third quarterly report showed that in the first three quarters of 2009, total operating revenue was 32.114 billion yuan, up 26.38% year-on-year, and net profit was 698 million yuan, up 83.58% year-on-year.
Fukuda's heavy truck and large and medium passenger business will continue to expand. According to Zhao Jingguang, the company's news spokesman, due to the shortage of Auman heavy trucks, Foton Motor has decided to start a new heavy truck plant in Beijing in the month. The plant is expected to have a total investment of 1.3 billion yuan. At the same time, Foton will also invest 550 million yuan in the technological transformation of the Nanhai plant in Foshan, Guangdong Province. Following the European V plant in Beijing Changping, Futian will have a large and medium-sized bus production base.
