Carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) are precursors of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), which can effectively reduce fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in the air by reducing their emission concentration, thereby reducing environmental pollution. At present, detergents are required in gasoline from developed countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, and Europe. It is also one of the universally effective means of controlling motor vehicle pollution in the world.
The "Atmospheric Regulations" implemented on March 1, 2014 requires that the fuel for vehicle sales in Beijing should meet the standards set by the State and this Municipality, and add vehicle detergents in accordance with regulations. Otherwise, the environmental protection administrative department shall order the correction of the illegal act within a time limit and impose a fine of not less than 10,000 yuan but not more than 100,000 yuan. If the circumstances are serious, the municipal competent commercial administrative department shall revoke its operating qualifications.
