Beijing auto show will open the curtain, hundreds of brand cars competing. Perhaps you do not know, that a gorgeous new domestic car, most of the use of Baosteel to provide car panels. The person in charge of the Baosteel Group revealed yesterday that as of this month, more than 30 automakers across the country have used Baosteel products, and the cumulative production of Baosteel auto panels has exceeded 15 million tons.

In order to make domestically-made new cars more use of domestically produced steel plates, Baosteel has been working hard in recent years and has joined hands with car manufacturers to intervene in the early development of many new cars. SAIC Motor’s own brand new car, the Roewe 750, has just come out. Baosteel has been trying to figure out how to supply it for it as early as two years ago. Since 2004, the integrated production, sales, and research team of Baosteel Branch and sales centers, research institutes and other units have conducted several rounds of technical exchanges with SAIC Motor to determine a reasonable and feasible manufacturing solution. With the help of pre-accumulation of high-strength automotive plate development experience, through systematic research, the use characteristics of high-strength automotive panels have been strengthened to ensure that Roewe has a beautiful body. More than two years of research and research have made Baosteel the majority of more than 400 body parts. Baosteel's products are used in 90% of the high-grade automobile plates on the body. It is reported that Baosteel has entered into an alliance with FAW, SAIC, and Dongfeng three giant auto companies to jointly develop steel supply, technology development, steel processing and other cooperative projects. It has built two laser welding lines for Arcelor and Baosteel. For SAIC, FAW and other domestic automobile manufacturers, 4 million pieces of automotive laser tailored welded blanks are provided. In order to boost vehicle energy conservation, Baosteel launched the “Ultralight Body Steel” project a few years ago. Through the analysis of steel plate components, new elements are added to new products to make the steel plate lighter and more durable. Lightweight R&D has six patents and more than 10 technical secrets. One of China’s best-selling models, after using Baosteel’s lightweight products, reduced vehicle weight by 41.48 kilograms, saving 3%-7% of fuel. It is understood that Baosteel's lightweight, high-strength steel plate is also involved in the development of future models such as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and hybrid vehicles.

Today, Baosteel auto panels have set their sights on the international market. Baosteel's exports of galvanized products from Italy to Fiat totaled more than 15,000 tons. European Ford and Baosteel have initially reached an export intention of 12,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized sheet. Maserati, a world-famous automobile, also “tested on” Baosteel’s “outwear”. The person in charge of Baosteel stated that so far, Baosteel's automobile panels have been expanded from the initial 20 varieties to 100 varieties, basically meeting the needs of the domestic automobile industry for steel production and forming a mass production capacity for high-grade automotive panels. At the beginning of this year, Baosteel Co., Ltd. set up a joint implementation promotion team for the brand strategy of automotive panel products. The brand marketing strategies of various methods were launched one after another. “Breaking the 15 million-ton mark is the result of the efforts of Baosteel’s automotive panels over the past 10 years, but it also means brand new. The starting point. Baosteel will strive to become a world-class manufacturer of automotive panels."
