Volvo delivers VN heavy trucks that have passed US EPA certification

Recently, Volvo Trucks delivered the first EPA2010-certified truck to Talon Logistics in North America. To date, Talon has ordered 23 EPA 2010 certified Volvo VN series trucks for the fleet.

EPA is the English abbreviation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, its main task is to protect human health and the natural environment. The EPA is responsible for investigating various environmental plans and formulating national standards. It has a leading position in national environmental science and related investigations, education, and evaluation. Each year, the EPA will impose more stringent requirements on the emission standards for commercial vehicles in the coming year. The EPA2010 is the world's most stringent emission standard equivalent to the Euro 6 standard currently proposed by the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Volvo Trucks is the first truck manufacturer certified by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Department of Aerobic Resources (CARB) for its 11 and 13 litre heavy-duty diesel engines. By using a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system to reduce the emission of nitrogen oxides, harmful gases emitted by the vehicle during operation are close to zero. While meeting all strict emission standards, Volvo Trucks has also improved fuel economy and reduced greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide. Currently, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems have been widely used in the European market.

The delivery of Talon Logistics Co., Ltd. Volvo Truck is equipped with Volvo D13 engine, the maximum power of 405 horsepower, torque of 1450 pounds per square foot, with the 13-liter engine in the FH and FM series trucks sold in China have the same Technology platform. At the same time, the model is also equipped with I-Shift intelligent shift system. It can be said that this truck has become the world's most energy-efficient truck.

Talon Logistics Co., Ltd., which purchases trucks from Volvo , is a transportation subsidiary of Giant Eagle Co., Ltd., based in Pittsburgh, USA. Giant Eagle Co., Ltd. has chain offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland. Due to the use of Volvo Trucks , Talon Logistics Co., Ltd. has become a pioneer in trying advanced emission control technology. In the past seven years, Volvo and Talon Logistics have conducted actual selective catalytic reduction system tests in their fleet. In September 2007, Talon also conducted customer field testing activities for Volvo Trucks' EPA2010.

In the European market, Volvo has had billions of miles of practical experience in experiments with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. Peter Karlsten, chief technology officer of the Volvo Group, said: "This outstanding achievement has become the best proof that Volvo Trucks is leading many manufacturers in engine design and construction."
