Zhang Xiaoqi said that China's auto industry has achieved a 15% annual growth rate

With the official opening of the Beijing Auto Show yesterday (November 19), the 2006 Beijing International Automobile Summit also kicked off. Zhang Xiaoji, chairman of the China Association of Automotive Engineers, said that after five years of development, the development of the Chinese automobile industry has reached the original commitment to the WTO working group, which has grown by 15% annually. Last year, the total amount of import trade reached 18 billion US dollars.

Zhang Xiaojun said that China has become an increasingly important part of the world’s auto industry. He recalled that five years ago when China studied the countermeasures that might have brought challenges and opportunities to the industry after it had responded to the WTO accession, the then-current Chinese auto industry (including the then-Chinese joint-venture auto companies) was included. The most worrying industry.

Five years ago, the Chinese WTO working group decided to increase the investment quota of auto manufacturers above provincial level, gradually increasing from the then 30 million US dollars to 150 million US dollars in the fourth year after its entry. At present, there are more than 800 joint ventures and joint ventures between China's auto parts and components, and the accumulated capital is about 96 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 50% of the total capital of the national automobile industry. Zhang Xiaokai believes that the auto industry has achieved such a result that it has fully achieved its commitment to the WTO working group before its entry into the WTO.

According to statistics, the output of domestic cars has tripled in five years. China's ranking in the world's auto industry has risen from the previous 8th to the 3rd. The domestic auto trade export volume has increased by 15% every year since 2001 and reached 20 billion yuan last year. In 2005, the total amount of China's import trade, the total calculated by the auto industry alone has exceeded 18 billion U.S. dollars.

It is reported that this forum is sponsored by the China Automobile Engineering Society. In addition to numerous industry experts, high-level leaders from the top five auto companies and Volkswagen, General Motors and other auto companies have participated in the forum and made speeches.
