Chicago Still & Box Alarm, 5-5-14

This is from Josh Boyajian: Chicago Fire Department responded to a Still and Box Alarm Monday night at 1906 N. Kostner. The fire was in a two-story frame building with heavy fire conditions on the second floor and in the attic. Due to the rapidly deteriorating situation, an emergency evacuation was ordered, and crews had to pull out of the structure and go defensive. Four handlines were deployed, and Tower 14 was positioned on the A side. I arrived a bit late, but I managed to capture a few shots. I also attached a new decal that was recently applied to Engine 91. The first photo shows Engine 68 on the scene. The second image features Engine 76, both working hard to contain the fire. The third photo is of the burned-out house, showing the extent of the damage. There’s also a close-up of the new company decal on Engine 91, which looks great. Finally, here’s a shot of the Chicago FD communications van, always a key part of any major incident. These images give a good sense of how intense the response was and the challenges the firefighters faced. Thanks for sharing, Josh!
