The first ecological ultrasonic algae removal ship in China is opened in Changzhou.

Developed by Southeast University, Jiangsu Dayou Technology Development Co., Ltd., Changzhou Heli Electric Co., Ltd. and Changzhou FRP Shipyard, China's first ultrasonic algae-removing ship “Dayou Star 01” with complete independent intellectual property rights was officially launched.

"Dayou Star 01" is mainly used for emergency treatment of cyanobacteria outbreaks. The successful construction of the ship marks a staged breakthrough in the treatment of cyanobacteria pollution in the waters, and the ecological management has added tools. "Dayou Star 01" is 15 meters long and 4 meters wide. Through the low-power ultrasonic radiation at the bottom of the ship, it can clean cyanobacteria in 5000 square meters of water per hour. The power consumption per hour is only 50 watts, and it will not be aquatic. The system has an impact.

At present, the treatment of cyanobacteria at home and abroad mainly includes chemical reagents, mechanical fishing, biological algae, shading algae removal, electrochemical algae removal, clay algae removal, and artificial wetland algae removal. However, the use of chemical measures to remove algae requires the injection of large amounts of chemical agents, which can damage the water environment and have a toxic effect on fish and benthic organisms in the water. Because of the extremely fast speed of algae reproduction and growth, traditional physical measures are difficult to remove completely. In recent years, combined with the physiological characteristics of algae at home and abroad, the algae-killing technology of “ultrasonic algae removal” was established.

At present, the international application of high-power (up to several thousand kilowatts) "ultrasonic algae removal" technology, which has a significant destructive effect on aquatic ecosystems during the use of ultrasonic power due to excessive ultrasonic power, and comminuted damage to algae cells, It causes a large amount of algal toxin release and secondary pollution. Low-power (0.5 watt - 50 watt) "ultrasonic cavitation algae removal" developed by Southeast University, a new technology with independent intellectual property rights, can destroy algae cells with low-power ultrasonic radiation in 30 seconds to 5 minutes. The bubbles inside make the algae cell biological activity disappear, reducing the concentration of algae cells in the water body, and at the same time, it does not cause the pulverized destruction of the algae cells to release the toxin.

The ship will soon travel to the Three Gorges to play its role. At present, the Beijing Water Affairs Bureau has also booked two ships of the same type to Changzhou manufacturers.
