Chicago Still & Box Alarm, 12-31-13

This message is from Eric Haak:

Here are some photos from a Still & Box Alarm fire that occurred on the 6600 block of South Oakley in Chicago. The alarm was dispatched at 09:36 AM, and the scene was boxed due to reports of people trapped inside. Engine 101 arrived first and confirmed a basement fire in a one-story single-family home. An elderly woman was taken out of the house, but I'm not sure if it was firefighters or civilians who helped her. She was taken to the hospital and appeared alert when we arrived. It took me about ten minutes to get to the scene after the call went out, so that's the timeline. I also included a photo of Engine 123 with a memorial decal for Captain Johnson below the driver’s side windshield.

I thought these images might be useful for documentation or news coverage. The fire was contained relatively quickly, but the situation was serious enough to require a full response. I’ve attached several photos showing the fire department in action, including the engine with the memorial plate. If you need more details or additional photos, feel free to let me know.
