Spiral Chute Introduction
The spiral chute is a modern gravity separation device designed to efficiently separate minerals based on their density differences. It utilizes the combined forces of water and gravity, enabling the separation of heavy, medium, and light products. This equipment is constructed using fiberglass lined with wear-resistant polyurethane and corundum, offering excellent resistance to corrosion, rust, and wear. Ideal for mining and ore processing, especially in placer mining at coastal, river, and stream areas, it is known for low water consumption, compact design, high concentration, and recovery rates, along with strong adaptability.
Application of Spiral Chute
This type of spiral chute is suitable for metal and non-metal ores with significant density differences, such as iron, chromite, pyrite, tin, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, gold, coal, monazite, rutile, and zircon. It can easily handle various raw material sizes, densities, and feed volumes, making it ideal for processing 0.6–0.03 mm lode and placer materials. However, high mud content may affect the separation efficiency. Currently, it is widely used in the treatment of iron ore, tungsten, tin, niobium-tantalum ores, and gold in coastal and riverside areas.
Working Principle of Spiral Chute
1. Set up the spiral chute and adjust its vertical alignment. Secure it in place using timber.
2. Use a sand pump to deliver the ore slurry into the two feeding openings at the top of the chute. Add supplementary water to regulate the slurry consistency.
3. The slurry then flows down automatically and rotates from the top. Under the influence of rotational steam and centrifugal force, the ore and sand are separated according to their specific gravity, grain size, and shape.
4. Finally, the concentrate moves to the final ore hopper and is conveyed through a pipe, while the tailings go to the sand hopper and are transported to the sand pond. The sand pump is then removed, completing the concentrating process.
