More about the new home for the South Elgin fire engine from Danny Nelms:
The fire engine that once served the South Elgin Fire Department has been on the move again. After spending several years in Pennsylvania, it was recently put up for sale. In response to the destruction caused by the tornado in Mayfield and Graves County, Kentucky, the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company #2 stepped in and decided to donate the Seagrave pumper to the local fire department, which lost its station and multiple pieces of equipment in the disaster. The engine was loaded onto a flatbed truck late on December 16th and began its journey to Kentucky, bringing much-needed support to the affected community.
Here's a similar South Elgin engine from our archives:

This 1987 Seagrave engine was one of the first units deployed by the South Elgin Fire Department and has since become a symbol of the community's commitment to public safety. It's heartening to see such equipment being repurposed to help those in need, especially after a natural disaster. The generosity of the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company highlights the strong bonds between fire departments across the country and their shared mission of protecting lives and property.
