Shell World-class Lubricant Blending Plant Launched in Zhuhai

Shell announced on November 26, 2009 that it is opening a world-class lubricant blending plant to meet the growing demand in the Chinese market. The plant currently has a production capacity of 200 million liters (about 200,000 tons) of lubricants per year, and it can gradually increase its production potential to 400 million liters (about 400,000 tons), thus becoming one of Shell's three largest lubricant blending plants in the world.

Located in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, the plant is Shell's latest lubricants blending plant in Asia and Shell's sixth lubricant blending plant in China. Its products will be supplied to the Chinese market to satisfy the general consumer, transportation sector, and industry. Departments and the needs of the maritime sector.

In addition to oil production, Shell will also invest in the construction of a lube oil technology service center. The center will provide a range of technical services, including quality control laboratories, to provide technical research, marketing, and training services related to lubricant applications to Shell's major customers and automotive OEMs.
