Car production accounts for 45% of domestic cars
According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of this year, China exported 51,864 vehicles (including complete sets of spare parts), an increase of 279.7% year-on-year, exceeding the number of 51,205 imported vehicles (including complete sets of spare parts) during the same period. However, due to the low unit price of China's exported vehicles, the total amount of exported vehicles in the first quarter was only US$116 million, equivalent to one-tenth of the US$1.559 billion of imported vehicles for the same period.
Customs statistics show that of the more than 50,000 vehicles exported by China in the first quarter of this year, the vast majority are golf carts, ATVs and other special-purpose vehicles, accounting for 75% of the total. The number reached 38,373 and the amount was 37.04 million US dollars, an increase of 373.6% and 41.1% year-on-year, and the unit price was lower and lower. Others are, in turn, trucks, minivans, sedans, large and medium-sized passenger cars, and off-road vehicles.
According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of this year, the export value of China's auto parts and components was US$1.486 billion, an increase of 50.9% year-on-year. In addition to the entire vehicle, the key parts of the vehicle exported 224 million U.S. dollars and the auto parts exports were 1.145 billion U.S. dollars.
According to another survey, China’s car production in the first quarter accounted for 45% of domestic cars.
Since the beginning of this year, China's auto industry has continued to grow rapidly. Especially, the growth of passenger cars has been particularly rapid. It has become the main driving force for the growth of China's auto industry, and it has promoted the optimization of the domestic auto structure. In the first quarter of this year, the proportion of cars in domestic cars reached 45%, an increase of 5 percentage points year-on-year.
According to the statistics of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first three months of this year, domestic production of cars totaled 1.29 million units and sales of 1.277 million units, an increase of 25.63% and 28.98% year-on-year. The output of cars was 579,900, and the sales volume was 567,000, an increase of 41.86% and 44.47%, respectively. The output of passenger cars was 326,500, and the sales volume was 332,700, an increase of 10.72% and 9.48%, respectively. Due to tight railway transportation this year, road transport has grown substantially, stimulating the demand for trucks. In the first quarter, the production and sales of trucks increased by 19% and 28.46%, respectively, and the production and sales volumes were 396,200 and 378,000, respectively.
In the first quarter, domestic cars accounted for 45% of total production, passenger cars 25%, and trucks 30%. With the continuous and rapid growth of the production of automobiles, especially cars in China, the domestic automobile structure has been continuously optimized. However, there is still a big gap compared with the proportion of cars in foreign countries that account for 70% of the production of cars.
