It is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2014 and will be used for oil and gas development in the Bohai Bay after delivery.
In 1977, the Yantai Shipyard (formerly CIMC Raffles) built the "Victory No. 1" bottom-bottom drilling platform for Shengli Oilfield. After a lapse of 36 years, CIMC Raffles has won the order of Sinopec's “New Victory No. 1” jack-up drilling platform with its rich experience in offshore high-end equipment construction. In the past 36 years, the offshore drilling platform of Shengli Oilfield has developed from “Victory No. 1” to “Victory No. 10”; Yantai Shipyard has also developed from a local boat factory to a well-known offshore enterprise in China. During the period, CIMC Raffles built "Victory No. 3" for Shengli Oilfield; repaired and renovated "Victory No. 2", "Victory No. 3", "Victory No. 5", "Victory No. 6" and "Victory No. 8" . In 2012, Sinopec and CIMC Raffles signed a strategic cooperation supplier agreement, and the construction of “New Victory No. 1” was the beginning of a new round of higher-level cooperation between the two sides.
“New Victory No. 1” is a key construction project of Sinopec Group Company and the largest and most advanced offshore drilling platform currently built by Shengli Oilfield. The construction of “New Victory No. 1” is not only the inheritance of the successful offshore exploration industry, but also lays a solid foundation for Shengli Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. to practice the strategy of walking out and strengthen the drilling market in the sea, which will effectively enhance the limited petroleum engineering project.
