As units were en route, they reported a large black smoke column rising into the sky. The fire was in a two-story ordinary construction building, measuring 100 by 75 feet, that housed an auto repair facility. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions and deployed three master streams along with multiple handlines to bring the flames under control. On scene, the following units were present: Cicero Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Truck 1, Truck 2, Firefighter 7, Firefighter 1, Firefighter 12, and Berwyn Truck 904.

Josh captured several powerful images of the incident, including the massive black smoke plume, crews working with high-pressure master streams, and the E-ONE TDA making its way through the chaos. The fire caused significant damage, and emergency crews worked tirelessly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. This was a challenging call for the department, especially given the traffic congestion during the afternoon rush. Thanks to Josh for sharing these valuable photos and insights.
