It is reported that these fast interceptors will be built at the Marine Alutech shipyard in Finland and will be delivered by the end of 2017. The Watercat K13 rapid interceptor will be propelled by a 651 kW diesel engine equipped with two Rolls-Royce 32A3 waterjets. The Watercat K13 fast interceptor will have a maximum speed of more than 50 knots and a full-load range of more than 200 nautical miles.
According to Rolls-Royce, the company's Camewa waterjets will make an important contribution to the operability, efficiency and performance of these high-capacity patrol boats, especially at speeds of more than 50 knots. The efficiency of the Camiva A3 series of waterjets is up to 3% higher than the energy efficiency of various types of waterjets in the early days.
