The Preparatory Committee of the China Association for Production and Marketing of Commercial Vehicle Parts is established

From December 18 to 19, 2007, over 600 representatives from the commercial vehicle and parts industry across China convened in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, to explore the future of China's commercial vehicle parts distribution sector. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between manufacturers and distributors, while addressing challenges and opportunities in an increasingly competitive market. Wang Yuyang, General Manager of the China Automotive Industry Parts Sales Company, highlighted that China has become the world's largest producer and seller of commercial vehicles, with a massive domestic market that continues to grow rapidly. International automotive giants are also intensifying their efforts to capture a share of this booming sector. As a result, the Chinese commercial vehicle market is one of the most fiercely competitive globally. Wang emphasized the need for a unified platform where producers and sellers can communicate more effectively, exchange ideas, and identify new business opportunities. He stressed that through cooperation, both sides could achieve mutual benefits and sustainable development. He further explained that the formation of joint production and sales companies, along with self-regulation, represents a key historical responsibility for the industry. By working together on this platform, members will focus on setting industry standards, providing employee training, clarifying technical issues, and representing the industry’s interests. The federation, he added, does not engage in direct buying or selling but instead focuses on shaping the industry's future, establishing fair rules, and promoting self-discipline. After extensive discussions, the delegates reached two major decisions: first, the establishment of the "Preparatory Committee for the China Commercial Vehicle Parts Production and Marketing Federation," with Wang Xiaoyang appointed as its director, and Wang Jiming and Yan Lixing as deputy directors. Second, it was decided that the inaugural meeting of the federation would be held in the spring of 2008 at the Harbin National Automobile Accessories Trade Fair. This event marked a significant step forward in the organization and coordination of the commercial vehicle parts industry in China, signaling a commitment to long-term growth, collaboration, and standardization.
