Salt Lake Hainer PVC integration project is based on the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to optimize the industrial structure and layout of Ganhe Industrial Park. This project is the first large-scale integrated project of Salt Lake Co., Ltd., which is out of the Qaidam Basin. It is an extension and an important part of the Qaidam circular economy industry in the Xining area. The construction of the project gives full play to the comparative advantages of the two places and plays an important role in the demonstration of optimizing the industrial layout, advancing structural adjustment and accelerating the development of circular economy.

The overall plan of the PVC integration project is to produce 400,000 tons of caustic soda, 500,000 tons of PVC, 950,000 tons of calcium carbide and 3 million tons of cement per year. The project will be constructed in two phases: the first phase of construction will be 200,000 tons/year caustic soda and 240,000 tons/year. PVC, 350,000 tons/year calcium carbide and 2 million tons/year cement, 140,000 tons magnesium hydroxide, 100,000 tons magnesium oxide. The first phase of the project will invest 6.8 billion yuan. After the completion of the project, the annual sales revenue will be 4 billion yuan, the tax revenue will be 500 million yuan, and the total annual profit will be 600 million yuan. The total investment of all projects is 11.6 billion yuan.

Qinghai Salt Lake Hainer Chemical Co., Ltd. was established in April 2009. The 2 million tons cement project was put into operation on July 8, 2011. The construction period was 14 months. Today, 150,000 tons of calcium carbide and 350 thousand tons of auxiliary equipment are installed. The production will take 18 months. By the end of this year, the chemical project will be completed and commissioned. It will also start production in less than 20 months next year.

According to An Pingyu, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Party Committee of Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Co., Ltd., the 150,000 tons of calcium carbide project put into operation today was led by Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Co., Ltd. under the leadership of the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government and restructured in 2008. Two calcium carbides that were difficult to survive in the crisis were formed after the construction of the project. The PVC integrated project with the integrity of the recycling economy industry chain, high equipment technology, high level of automation, and high environmental protection standards was established, not only technically improved, but also the recycling economy. In normal production, the entire calcium carbide project no longer consumes other energy, effectively uses resources and protects the environment.

In addition, the company’s 2 million-ton cement project has completed a 168-hour performance assessment and achieved full production standards. The project introduced Germany's Loesche Mill and the cement automatic packaging system in Havneburg, the Netherlands. The cement project is designed to emit less than 30 milligrams, which is far below the national standard of 50 milligrams per cubic meter. The Mendanxia mine covers an area of ​​0.048 square kilometers and has a height difference of 577 meters. The mountain is steep and difficult to build for the country. The mines with the greatest difficulty and high drop ratio, and the mine projects with an investment of 170 million yuan, can realize the standardized mining of “top-down, horizontal stratification, and step mining”. The long-distance belt factory is 21.7 kilometers, which is the highest in the country. The daily ore transportation capacity is 10,000 tons, which truly realizes the “zero emission and no landing” of ore transportation. In addition, the 1 million tons/year carbide slag cement production line is matched to achieve zero discharge of calcium carbide slag, high product quality, low cost, and obvious market advantages.

Thiocyanate is analogous to the cyanate ion, [OCN]−, wherein oxygen is replaced by sulfur. [SCN]− is one of the pseudohalides, due to the similarity of its reactions to that of halide ions. Thiocyanate used to be known as rhodanide (from a Greek word for rose) because of the red colour of its complexes with iron. Thiocyanate is produced by the reaction of elemental sulfur or thiosulfate with cyanide


Thiocyanate[4] is known to be an important part in the biosynthesis of hypothiocyanite by a lactoperoxidase.[5][6][7] Thus the complete absence of thiocyanate[8] or reduced thiocyanate[9] in the human body, (e.g., cystic fibrosis) is damaging to the human host defense system.[10][11]

Thiocyanate is a potent competitive inhibitor of the thyroid sodium-iodide symporter.[12] Iodine is an essential component of thyroxine. Since thiocyanates will decrease iodide transport into the thyroid follicular cell, they will decrease the amount of thyroxine produced by the thyroid gland. As such, foodstuffs containing thiocyanate are best avoided by Iodide deficient hypothyroid patients.[13]

In the early 20th century, thiocyanate was used in the treatment of hypertension, but it is no longer used because of associated toxicity.[14] Sodium nitroprusside, a metabolite of which is thiocyanate, is however still used for the treatment of a hypertensive emergency. Rhodanese catalyzes the reaction of sodium nitroprusside with thiosulfate to form the metabolite thiocyanate
