China's auto parts industry development status

On May 30th, the “China Automotive Parts Industry Development Research” conference was held in Xi’an. The report was jointly undertaken and edited by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center and the China Automobile Parts Industry Research Association. The report comprehensively and systematically expounded China. The status quo, key issues and future trends of the auto parts industry.

Since 2015, commissioned by the Department of Equipment of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the joint project team of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center and the China Association of Automotive Engineers Parts Industry Research Group (hereinafter referred to as the project team) was established to understand the status quo, analyze the gaps, explore problems, and formulate countermeasures. In terms of research, field investigations have visited more than 100 domestic leading companies for complete vehicles and parts, as well as dozens of key parts and components industry clusters, and gained first-hand data on companies and a first-line understanding of the industry. After systematic analysis and multiple verifications by leading authoritative experts in the industry, the project team eventually formed the research results - "The basis of strengthening the country" - the study of China's auto parts industry development.

As the foundation for the development of the auto industry, the parts and components industry has become a solid support for China's autonomous auto industry to become bigger, stronger and better. In the past 60 years, the domestic auto parts industry has grown continuously. Along with the joint venture and cooperation promoted by reform and opening up, and the market dividend brought about by the explosive growth of domestic production and sales, we have achieved exciting development by leaps and bounds. The total output value exceeds 3.8 trillion yuan, and the scale of zero-scale production has steadily increased to 1:1. With more than 13,000 component enterprises above designated size, the products basically cover nearly 1,500 parts of the automotive industry chain.

At present, there are more than 100,000 domestic parts and components companies, and domestic auto parts companies with better development and stronger strength are emerging. In the fierce market competition, a group of well-developed and stronger companies are still emerging. Major achievements have been made in core technological innovation, supporting market breakthroughs, industrial strategic patterns, and internal corporate reforms. According to the division of the 8 major product areas and the 10 major types of enterprises, after systematically summarizing a series of characteristics of local excellent parts and components companies, it has important guidance and reference significance for the development of industry enterprises. For international supporting companies, the construction of overseas R&D centers and manufacturing bases and the guidance of forward-looking product development and design have become the main path; for leading companies in the subdivided industries, the introduction of a converged foreign investment system, deep cooperation in production, teaching and research, and civil-military integration are the main approaches; Intelligent enterprises, the establishment of a comprehensive zero-cross trust system, cross-border multi-technology integration has become a new model.
