At the recent Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Mineral Resources Management Conference, Cao Guosheng, Deputy Director of the Regional Land and Resources Office, revealed that since 2000, Guangxi has significantly boosted its investment in geological exploration, leading to the discovery of nine large and medium-sized mineral deposits.
According to the report, the region has consistently allocated 20 million yuan annually for geological surveys. During the "10th Five-Year Plan" period, Guangxi made effective use of its limited funds to launch exploration efforts in the Sanshui bauxite area, while also prioritizing key minerals such as bauxite, lead-zinc, manganese, tin, gold, and kaolin. These initiatives have yielded remarkable exploration outcomes.
Over the past five years, a total of nine large and medium-sized mineral deposits have been identified, including five bauxite mines, two manganese deposits, one gold mine, and one kaolin site. This progress highlights Guangxi's growing strength in mineral resource development and its commitment to sustainable exploitation. The ongoing efforts are expected to further enhance the region's economic growth and support long-term industrial development.
