This is a report from Chi-Town Fire Photos:
9/26/19 – 3-11 Alarm Fire @ 3902 River Rd.
In Schiller Park, a fire broke out in an outdoor storage facility. When the first responding units arrived, they found two to three storage lockers already on fire. Engine 5 positioned itself and deployed a couple of lines, but the fire had already spread to adjacent units. The alarm was quickly escalated to a Box Alarm, bringing in additional resources from nearby departments. The fire was spreading fast, and by the time more crews arrived, it had grown into a 3-alarm incident. Multiple companies from neighboring communities were called in to assist. There was a lot of manual labor involved, including forced entry, as firefighters worked hard to contain the blaze. I believe a total of seven or eight handlines were deployed during the operation. We arrived just before the Box Alarm was officially called, so we got to witness the early stages of the response.
