The Bridgeview Fire Department is set to receive a brand new Wheeled Coach ambulance. It will be mounted on a 2019 Ford F-450 chassis featuring liquid suspension, making it one of the most advanced units in our fleet. This will be our third Wheeled Coach ambulance, and we're hoping to have it delivered by early next week at the latest.
Currently, Ambulance 406 will be renumbered to 412 and placed into ready reserve status. Our existing spare unit, Ambulance 426, is being decommissioned and will be transferred to our Emergency Management Agency (EMA). Meanwhile, our current reserve ambulance, Ambulance 409 — which was purchased used from the Homer Fire Protection District — will now serve as our primary spare.
We’re excited about this upgrade and the added flexibility it brings to our operations. It’s always great to see our department grow and improve its capabilities for the community we serve.
