This is a report from Chi-Town Fire Photos:
9/26/19 – 3-11 Alarm Fire @ 3902 River Rd.
Schiller Park experienced a serious fire at an outdoor storage facility. When the first responders arrived, they found 2-3 storage units already on fire. Engine 5 positioned itself and started laying lines, but the fire had already spread to adjacent units. The alarm was quickly escalated to a Box Alarm, bringing in additional resources from surrounding areas. Despite the efforts, the fire was growing fast and eventually was upgraded to a 3-Alarm situation. Multiple fire companies from neighboring communities were involved, working together to contain the blaze. A lot of physical work and forced entry was needed to get control of the fire. I believe there were around 7 or 8 hand lines deployed during the operation. We arrived just before the Box Alarm was officially called, so we witnessed the initial stages of the response.
