Area apparatus purchases

Hey everyone, I just got some updates from Josh Boyajian about recent and upcoming purchases of fire vehicles across different departments. Here's what I found out: In River Forest, a heavy-duty Smeal 105' quint has been acquired and is all set to be put into service. You'll have the chance to check it out at FRI this Friday and Saturday. Leyden Fire Protection District has wrapped up work on a 2013 Ford F-350 Wheeled Coach ambulance, and it’ll also be showcased at FRI over the weekend. Bensenville Fire Protection District recently purchased a 2013 Ford F-450 Wheeled Coach ambulance, which is expected to arrive by the end of the month. Cicero is getting a brand-new Pierce Dash CF pumper, scheduled for delivery in February. Over in Bolingbrook, they’ve given the green light to buy two new vehicles: a Pierce Dash CF ladder truck and a Pierce Impel engine. Chicago Ridge has a 2014 Road Rescue medium-duty ambulance on a TerraStar chassis coming their way. Wilmette has two exciting additions lined up. First, a 2013 E-One E-Max pumper is due to arrive within the next few months. Second, a 2013 Ford F-450 squad from Warner Bodies will join them around the same time. Northfield is working on a 2013 E-One engine built on a Cyclone chassis, expected to be finished by the end of the year. Broadview has placed an order for a 2013 E-One pumper but hasn't finalized the specs yet. Westchester is getting a 2013 E-One 21? custom, walk-around rescue on a Typhoon chassis that should be delivered by the end of the year. Palos Heights Fire Protection District has also ordered a 2013 E-One pumper, but the specifics aren't clear at this point. Gurnee has a 2013 Ford F-450 Road Rescue Ultramedic Type I ambulance under construction, expected to wrap up by year-end. Joliet’s two new engines are ready to go and might even have been delivered already. And finally, Fire Service Inc. announced a long-term deal with the City of Chicago for airport pumpers. The first batch includes three units, each featuring an E-One Cyclone custom chassis with a 2000 GPM Hale pump, Fecon foam system, a 1000-gallon water tank, and 250-gallon foam tanks, all housed in Salisbury Stainless Steel bodies. This marks a significant return of the E-One product line to Chicago, the third-largest city in the U.S. There's also a picture of the new E-One fire engines destined for O’Hare Airport that looks pretty impressive. Thanks to Danny for sharing! Let me know if you've heard anything else or have any thoughts about these new acquisitions. Best, [Your Name]
