The Elmhurst Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 12, has recently been added to the site. The images were submitted by Dennis McGuire, Jr. Notably, Elmhurst has undergone a significant visual transformation, switching from its long-standing white and school bus yellow with green stripes to a more classic white and red color scheme. In addition to the new paint job, the department has also transitioned from E-ONE to Pierce apparatus, marking a major update in their fleet.
While the fire suppression units are staffed by career firefighters, the EMS units operate under a contract-based staffing model. This arrangement allows for flexibility and efficient resource management.

Historically, Elmhurst had a diverse fleet that included American LaFrance, Pierce, Mack, and Darley engines. Their former aerials were both 100-foot rear-mount ladders from Pirsch. Here are some historic photos that showcase the department’s past:
