House fire in Kildeer, 12-1-21 (more)

From wgntv.com: "In the early darkness of the season, flames lit up the sky for miles around Kildeer following a major house fire. A multi-story home was completely consumed and is now uninhabitable. Fire officials believe the structure may be a total loss. The scale of the fire required a mutual aid response from over a dozen neighboring communities. Due to the lack of fire hydrants in the area, firefighters used a dry hydrant, pulling water from nearby retention ponds to battle the blaze. Lake Zurich Fire Chief David Pilgrad noted that the intensity of the flames forced crews to drench the exterior of an adjacent home as a precaution. Fortunately, all residents escaped safely without needing medical attention. The cause of the fire is still under investigation."
