I recently had the chance to visit Alexis Fire Equipment where they’re building Crete Township FPD Engine 152. It’s always fascinating to see these fire engines come together piece by piece. The attention to detail is incredible, and it really highlights the craftsmanship involved in making something like this.
In one of the bays, I got to see the fire engine being assembled. It’s still very much a work in progress, but you can already tell that it’s going to be an impressive machine once it’s completed. There were several components being installed, from the ladder system to the WATER PUMP setup. Each part seemed to be meticulously placed to ensure everything functions smoothly when it’s out on calls.
The first image shows some of the initial stages of construction. You can see the bare chassis with various parts starting to get attached. It's exciting to imagine how this will all come together into a fully functional fire engine. The second picture captures more of the internal components being put in place. This stage is crucial because it sets the foundation for everything else.
Another shot gives a closer look at the engine bay. Here, you can see the technicians working diligently, ensuring every bolt and connection is secure. It’s clear that precision is key in their process. Lastly, there’s an image that offers a broader view of the entire vehicle. Even at this stage, it’s starting to take shape and you can envision its final form.
Alexis Fire Apparatus has a reputation for quality, and seeing their work firsthand really reinforces that. These photos give just a glimpse of what goes into building a fire engine, but it’s evident that each step is handled with care and professionalism. I’m looking forward to following along as Engine 152 progresses through its final stages of completion!
