Dylan Mercier, a 19-year-old owner/operator from St. Anne, Illinois, is excited to finally get his custom-built Mack Vision tractor and matching grain trailer on the road. A dedicated firefighter, Dylan bought the 2005 truck with his father just over a year ago, and since then, he's been working on making it truly his own.
"I got a firefighter costume for the Mack bulldog on the hood, and that’s when I knew exactly what I needed to do," Mercier shared. "It wasn’t just about the truck anymore—it was about honoring those who serve and protect."
The rig features a wide range of aftermarket upgrades, and both the truck and trailer are wrapped in a striking vinyl design that pays tribute to fallen firefighters. It’s not just a vehicle—it’s a statement.
"Driving this truck fills me with pride and joy," Dylan said. "But there’s a catch. The insurance for hauling with for-hire authority is way too expensive, especially since I’m under 21. Right now, it’s more of a show and parade truck until I can find a better insurance option."
Despite the limitations, Dylan continues to dream big. He’s already planning future upgrades and hopes to one day use the truck for real hauls. For now, though, it’s a powerful symbol of his passion for both firefighting and trucking. Whether it's on the road or at a parade, this Mack Bulldog is sure to turn heads and inspire respect.
