China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry won two National Science and Technology Progress Awards

At the recent National Science and Technology Awards Conference, two research projects from China Shipbuilding Industry Company (CSIC) were honored with the first and second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. This achievement highlights the growing strength and innovation capacity of CSIC in the field of science and technology. Since 2001, CSIC has received a total of 17 national scientific and technological progress awards, including four first prizes and thirteen second prizes. These accomplishments reflect the company's strong technological innovation capabilities and its effective implementation of a long-term strategy aimed at driving development through science and technology. In recent years, CSIC has consistently focused on enhancing its core competitiveness by prioritizing scientific and technological innovation. The company has closely integrated its research efforts with key national projects, ensuring that innovation is not only a strategic goal but also a practical reality. In 2006, CSIC held its second Scientific and Technological Innovation Conference, where it outlined clear guidelines, overall goals, and working principles for building an innovative organization. It also developed a medium- to long-term science and technology development plan. In 2007, CSIC continued to emphasize innovation as the driving force behind its growth. Following the "Year of Innovation" initiative, the company launched the "Science and Technology Week" activities to foster a more vibrant culture of innovation. Additionally, it strengthened its innovation system and increased investment in science and technology through various channels. These efforts have led to significant achievements in both weapons development and the main shipbuilding industry. CSIC was awarded the Special Prize for Science and Technology Innovation by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Furthermore, in the recently concluded National Defense Science and Technology Awards, CSIC had 92 projects recognized, including seven first prizes and one special prize. This impressive performance places CSIC among the top contenders in the defense industry sector, showcasing its leadership in technological advancement and its commitment to continuous improvement.
