Iveco vehicles are equipped with a vacuum booster that makes the brake pedal feel lighter, even at low speeds, and improves braking efficiency. However, this can cause the front braking system to become overly sensitive, leading to wheel lock-up and reduced driving stability. To address this issue, a hysteresis valve is installed in the front brake circuit. This valve only allows brake fluid to flow when the pressure reaches 0.14 MPa, which is just enough to start moving the brake shoes. Before the master cylinder pressure reaches 1.26 MPa, the pressure remains stable. Once the pressure exceeds this threshold, the hysteresis valve opens, allowing brake fluid to flow normally to the front brakes. If the driver presses the brake pedal at this point, the system can reach its maximum allowable pressure, ensuring effective braking. Importantly, the hysteresis valve requires no maintenance or regular inspections, making it a reliable and low-maintenance component of the braking system. This design helps balance braking performance with safety, providing drivers with better control and confidence on the road.
